JonapWD
JONAPWD operates in 36 States of Nigeria and FCT, with a national headquarter located in the FCT. JONAPWD programmes in line with its objectives includes policy influencing through advocacy, training and capacity building for registered member associations, awareness, mobilisation and welfare through entrepreneurship and service delivery; all programme delivery approach utilises rights based approach ensuring that systems and structures at all levels are transformed with equitable power sharing.
Programs
Key Activities
- In line with the vision and mission, JONAPWD major activities will include but not limited to the following enumerated below. .
- Advocacy programmes on policies, systems and practices at government and societal levels
- Training of members on livelihood schemes and relevant skills in collaboration with relevant government agencies
- Research on issues affecting persons with disabilities and social audit on government responses, implementation of and effectiveness of policies on the rights of persons with disabilities
- Documentation, publication and sharing issues of denials, stigmatisation and deprivations.
- Fund raising: JONAPWD at National, States and Local levels will engage in fundraising.
- Nurturing of upcoming associations of persons with disabilities.
- Promoting community based rehabilitation programmes that will decentralise the achievement of rights of person’s with disability to family members, community leaders and all relevant bodies at community levels
- Providing legal assistance to registered organisations of people with disabilities
