Some states in Nigeria have flagged off the distribution of palliatives to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal.

He called on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governors of the 36 States of the Federation (including FCT) to ensure that they apportion 5% as stated in Section 29 of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018 in the distribution of palliatives to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal on Persons with Disabilities. This 5% must be apportioned from the 5 billion promised by the federal Government of Nigeria to Persons with Disabilities.

The Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) should be the point of call in the distribution of Subsidy Removal Palliatives to Persons with Disabilities as they they know better how to reach out to those within the community. They also understand the concerns of Persons with Disabilities better.
