JONAPWD and partner Secure D Future International Initiative, paid an advocacy visit to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), FCT Command, to advance disability-inclusive Gender-Based Violence (GBV) response and referral systems.
Women and girls with disabilities face disproportionate risks of violence, yet too often encounter communication barriers, stigma, and systemic gaps when seeking help.

Our engagement focused on:
• Establishing structured collaboration with NSCDC
• Promoting trauma-informed and survivor-centered case handling
• Strengthening sign language capacity and communication access
• Building sustainable institutional capacity through training and retraining
Encouragingly, the Commandant, #Dr. Olusola Odumosu, NSCDC FCT Command, expressed openness to collaboration and reaffirmed its commitment to investigating and prosecuting GBV cases involving persons with disabilities.

Inclusive justice is not optional; it is a right.
Inclusion must move from intention to institutional practice.
