On November 21, 2025, the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), led by National President Abdullahi A. Usman, conducted a pivotal engagement with the Country Management Team of the World Bank Group in Nigeria.

The meeting was centered on enhancing disability mainstreaming within World Bank-supported programs, aiming to ensure that development initiatives in Nigeria become more inclusive, equitable, and responsive to the needs of persons with disabilities.

Nineteen participants, men and women, with and without disabilities, gather for a group photo. Seven of them are seated behind a table, representing the leadership of JONAPWD and key members of the World Bank team. Behind them, twelve others stand closely together, forming a cohesive and inclusive backdrop.

Key points emphasized by JONAPWD included:

✅ Embedding disability inclusion across project design and implementation
✅ Expanding accessible interventions across various sectors
✅ Strengthening data collection, accountability, and the participation of persons with disabilities
✅ Sustaining partnerships that amplify the voices of disability communities nationwide

This engagement represents a significant advancement toward establishing a Nigeria where no one is left behind. JONAPWD is committed to fostering an environment where the rights and needs of persons with disabilities are prioritized in all development efforts.
