On November 20, 2025, we had the privilege of engaging in a productive meeting with a joint delegation from the African Union, the ECOWAS-CEDAO Commission, and the GIZ BRIDGE Africa Team.
The discussions primarily focused on strengthening collaboration to enhance the impact of policies surrounding disability rights across the continent, with particular attention to the West African region. The participants emphasized that it’s crucial for the rights of individuals with disabilities to be actively protected and not just acknowledged.
This meeting underscored a shared commitment among all stakeholders to work towards realizing the rights of people with disabilities in Africa. Through the initiatives supported by BRIDGE Africa, we are confident that we can make significant strides in advancing these rights.
We look forward to fostering a more inclusive society and strengthening our collaboration in the journey ahead. Together, we can ensure that the voices of persons with disabilities are heard and their rights upheld.
