The Youth Empowerment Response Initiative (YERI) and the Community Partnership for Development (COMP4D), now the Ajala Community Development Initiative (ACDI) Consortium, launched a project in Yobe State in 2023.
This initiative, funded by Australian Aid through CBM Germany and JONAPWD, aims to promote the rights of persons with disabilities in humanitarian actions.
The project addresses gaps in the inclusion of persons with disabilities by developing a Disability Inclusion Scorecard, which serves as a practical tool for advocacy and accountability among humanitarian actors.
The pilot-testing of this scorecard has led to improved awareness of inclusion standards, better coordination among stakeholders, and increased participation of persons with disabilities in humanitarian efforts.
As a result, significant enhancements in program design, service delivery, and established platforms for ongoing dialogue have emerged.
