On February 12, 2026, we engaged in a fruitful advocacy meeting with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) aimed at enhancing collaboration to advance disability-inclusive Gender-Based Violence (GBV) response systems through the National Headquarters.
Our discussion emphasized that effective referral systems necessitate intentional collaboration among government agencies, civil society actors, and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs). This approach is essential for building a robust framework that responds adequately to the needs of all survivors of GBV.
Several key outcomes emerged from our meeting, including:
- The necessity for institutional openness to inclusive collaboration
- A renewed focus on strengthening GBV referral systems
- A commitment to improving accessibility and responsiveness
- Increased awareness of the psychosocial dimensions of survivor support
By fortifying our partnership with JONAPWD and leveraging its grassroots structures, we can enhance outreach and collaboration with NAPTIP’s state offices. This collaboration underscores the notion that effective response systems rely on functional partnerships, coordinated stakeholders, and the mainstreaming of disability inclusion at every level.
Together, we are dedicated to establishing a system where no survivor is left behind, ensuring that all individuals have access to the support and services they need.
