On June 17th, the Sokoto State Chapter of JONAPWD visited the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to explore potential strategic partnerships and collaborative initiatives.

During the visit, a copy of the Disability Act was presented to the Commissioner’s office which was met with an encouraging response.
The Commissioner, Hajia Asabe Balarabe, pledged to establish a Desk Office for disability matters in the state to ensure the integration of disability inclusion in all programs. She also promised to supervise the Ministry of the Sokoto State Disability Commission and to review the appointment of the Executive Secretary of the Commission, a position expected to be held by a person with a disability.
This exchange has laid a strong foundation for future collaboration, and we are excited about the opportunity to work together to advance the rights of people with disabilities in Sokoto State.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Commissioner’s office for their support and their dedication to promoting inclusivity.
